MILWAUKEE, WI — The rain this weekend could cause localized rural and urban flooding as well as rises on rivers and streams, mainly in southeast Wisconsin. The NWS says a strong low pressure weather system will approach southern Wisconsin today and move across southeast Wisconsin tonight.

Mostly rain is expected over southern Wisconsin but periods of rain, snow, sleet, and possibly freezing rain are forecast from Wisconsin Dells to Sheboygan and northward. One to three inches of snow is forecast with possibly very light ice accumulations if temperatures are cold enough.

In addition, east winds will gust to 30 to 40 mph this afternoon and early evening. Winds will then become west to southwest late tonight gusting to 30 to 40 mph through Sunday.
