Readers Pick Red Robin for Restaurant in Renaissance

Readers who enjoy taking in a movie at the Marcus Cinema in Sturtevant would also like grabbing a bite to eat at Red Robin.

The popular burger chain garnered the most votes in our poll and on Facebook.

When it was announced that Buffalo Wild Wings was going to build a new restaurant on the site of the old Lone Star Steakhouse at Regency Mall, readers were pretty happy with the news. And, with the theater being such a big draw in the area, we started to wonder what restaurant you might like to see in the Renaissance Business Park.

Red Robin captured a total of 17 votes, and 5 Guys, another place known for its burgers, took second place. There was a two-way tie for third between Hu Hut and Famous Dave's.

Other suggestions included PF Changs, Unos, The Cheesecake Factory and Kopps.

Sturtevant resident Sean Waiss took a different angle.

"A good brew pub, either a chain like RAM or Rock Bottom, or a local outfit like Horny Goat," he posted on Facebook.

Michele Bachmann, owner of the Grapes 2 Glass wine boutique in the Renaissance, said she will welcome a chain restaurant because, hopefully, it will attract other hospitality development.

"I am very excited about a chain restaurant coming out by the movie theater, especially starting out with a family orientated one like Red Robin," she commented. "This would start a chain reaction and we would get other stores, restaurants and businesses out here. It would be great for our community plus all the jobs it would create would be a bonus."
