Recognizing the importance of respite care.
We need to care more for one another in our community

The National Alliance for Caregiving and AARP revealed that an estimated 43.5 million adults in the United States have provided unpaid care to an adult or a child in the prior 12 months. They found that while there is a profile of a typical caregiver, caregivers on the whole are becoming as diverse as the American population and include more men and younger "millennial" caregivers. Still, 85% of family caregivers are not receiving respite. Our Harmony Club is a local non-profit that recognized the need for respite care for caregivers in the Racine, Milwaukee and Walworth counties.
Our Harmony Club Inc. is a social opportunity for older adults who may be experiencing memory loss, stroke, disabilities, or may be seeking socialization. This program provides up to 6 hours of respite for caregivers. We recognize that providing care for a loved one is a stressful job. Respite from providing care is a vital part of the process and in turn, will make you a better caregiver. Meanwhile, guests will enjoy getting together with their peers and benefit from a day away from home in a pleasant and safe environment.
