Sturtevant Hammering Out Administrator Contract, Hiring Office Help
Trustees are happy with how Village Clerk Mary Cole is transitioning into the role of Administrator, so that means they need to get some help in the front office.

It's been six months since Sturtevant Village Clerk Mary Cole was given the title of Interim Administrator, but the transition is going so well, she'll soon officially be the Village Administrator.
Trustees at the continual committee meeting last week praised the way Cole has moved fully into the leadership role with a first pivotal project by .
"I am very satisfied with your performance, especially the way you handled things with UNFI," Trustee John Johnson told Cole. "As far as I'm concerned, we should remove the 'Interim' tag and give you the job."

Trustee Chris Larsen, chair of the Administrative, Personnel, Policy and Legal Committee, confirmed that Village Attorney Tim Pruitt is working on the language in order to put Cole under contract, similar to the one the village had with former Administrator Mark Janiuk.
Board members want to be sure Cole can hold the position with a title that is effectively three positions rolled into one: Administrator/Clerk/Treasurer.
"We're sure this will be fine, but we want to make sure Mary and the village are both protected," Larsen said.
He is also impressed with the way Cole has transitioned.
"I'm happy we could promote from within and that we're having a smooth transition unlike in other communities," Larsen added.
