Sturtevant Man Accused of Leaving Cocaine on Boss' Desk
Police say this man left a small amount of cocaine on his boss' desk when he took a call in her office.

A Sturtevant man who took a call at work in his boss' office left behind an amount of cocaine, police say.
Martin Vorlob, 53, will face charges of felony possession of cocaine, second offense and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia in Racine County Circuit Court when he has his initial appearance next month. If convicted, he faces up to three years, seven months in jail and/or up to $10,500 in fines. Because he is considered a repeat offender, Vorlob could get extra time tacked onto any sentence he might receive.
According to the criminal complaint, Racine police were called at 4:03 p.m. Thursday to a business where a woman reported that she thought she found a small packet of cocaine on her desk and that it was left behind by Vorlob.
Vorlob was called to the woman's office to take a call. The person phoning him asked for some information that required Vorlob to retrieve a piece of paper from his wallet. While he read from the paper, he placed his wallet on the woman's desk. At the conclusion of the call, Vorlob picked his wallet up, put it back in his pocket and left the woman's office, the complaint reads.
Police say the woman noticed a small, folded piece of paper on her desk where Vorlob's wallet had been. When she opened the paper, a small plastic bag filled with a white powdery substance. Her boss was notified and the police were called.
During their interview with Vorlob, officers say he understood his rights but wanted an attorney. The interview ended, and Vorlob was taking into custody and searched, which turned up a small straw with white residue on it hidden in a pack of cigarettes.
Vorlob's initial appearance was to have been Friday, but it has been postponed until Sept. 11.
