Sturtevant Murder Suspect Charged with Child Porn

Keith Abbott is accused of killing Kristin Miller in 2011, and now he's charged with nine counts of possession of child pornography.

The man police say fatally stabbed Kristin Miller in 2011 has just been charged with possession of child pornography.

Keith Abbott, 49, is currently being held at Mendota Mental Health Institute on a Chapter 51 hold after he was declared incompetent to stand trial during a Feb. 21 hearing. Abbott is accused of stabbing Miller, the mother of his stepson's daughter, and dumping her body in a ravine in Rock County. He was first declared incompetent in Feb. 2012.

As reported in The Journal Times, Abbott admitted to having an affair with Miller and paying her large sums of money to keep her from telling his wife and to help care for her daughter.

According to the criminal complaint released Thursday, Abbot had been the subject of a Department of Homeland Security Child Exploitation Center investigation dating back as far as 2009. Abbot was linked to the investigation through federal search warrants served on the payment site for Dreamzone CP , a website where members could gain access to child pornography for a monthly fee.

The payment site, Liquid Web, Inc., turned over records that listed Abbott's credit card number and that Abbott listed his cabinet-making business at 2700 Sheridan Road as his address, the complaint reads. Records indicate Abbott became a member of Dreamzone on March 4, 2009.

A total of nine images and four videos showing children engaged in sexually explicit activities with adults were discovered on Abbott's computer, police say. These images were turned over to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. A report issued to the Racine County Sheriff's Department confirmed that children in five of the photos and all four videos were known victims.

Additionally, agents from Homeland Security say they recovered hundreds of images depicting violent deaths and web addresses where people discussed rape and showed women being choked.

Abbott is being held in a secure facility, and a $250,000 warrant has been issued for his arrest; he remains in Mendota on the murder charge.
