Update: Winter Storm Warning Issued, 3-7 Inches Snow Forecast
Observers say the snow is expected to develop across southern Wisconsin later this afternoon and evening and continue through tonight.

MILWAUKEE, WI — The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for parts of western Wisconsin and a Winter Weather Advisory for the rest of the state, including the metro Milwaukee area as heavy snow and a wintery mix of freezing rain and sleet moves in Friday afternoon and evening.
Observers say the snow is expected to develop across southern Wisconsin later this afternoon and evening and continue through the late evening.
Later tonight, then snow may become mixed with sleet or change over to a period of light freezing rain or drizzle for a time. Blustery southeast winds gusting 25 to 35 miles per hour will also result in reduced visibilities and patchy blowing snow.

Snowfall will mostly be in the 3 to 7 inch range with the highest amounts towards Sheboygan, Port Washington and West Bend. In addition, light icing up to one tenth of an inch is possible.
Blustery west winds will develop later Saturday morning and continue through Saturday afternoon causing areas of blowing and drifting snow.

The National Weather Service says people should be prepared for snow and ice covered roads developing later today and tonight resulting in hazardous travel conditions. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for all of southern Wisconsin.

A 50 percent chance of snow after 4 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 30. Southeast wind 10 to 15 miles per hour.
Tonight
Snow before 4 a.m., then snow, possibly mixed with rain and freezing rain between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m., then rain, possibly mixed with snow after 5 a.m. Patchy blowing snow between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. Low around 29. Breezy, with a southeast wind 15 to 20 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 30 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. Little or no ice accumulation expected. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
