A powerful storm toppled trees, left thousands of people without power and sent residents scurrying indoors to avoid harm:
RACINE, WI -- At one point on Tuesday night, you had to be pretty brave to venture outside to see the weather.
That's because a powerful thunderstorm rolled through Southeastern Wisconsin Tuesday evening, sending sheets of rain cascading horizontally into some neighborhoods, high winds toppling trees, and leaving thousands of residents without power.
According to WE Energies officials, Tuesday's storm caused about 19,000 people to initially lose power - some of which who are still waiting for their power to be restored.
