Battle of the Badges - features boxing matches with police and fire personnel from 14 jurisdictions in two states. Doors open at 3 p.m. at Case High School fieldhouse, 7345 Washington Ave., Mount Pleasant. General admission: $20; kids ages 14 and younger free.
Food, raffles and silent auction. Benefits autism research, Shop with a Cop program and a criminal justic scholarship.

Everyone is invited to experience astronomy first hand. Visitors will be able to view the stars and planets from the Modine Benstead Observatory telescopes. Free - donations welcome. Presented by the Racine Astronomical Society.

Half Point Historical Re-enactment
Racine County Fairgrounds
Step back into history at the 11th Annual Half Point Historical Re-enactment at the Racine County Fairgrounds, 19805 Durand Ave., Union Grove. This family friendly fun and educational event features many living history demonstrations spanning several centuries.
See and talk with Civil War and World War II soldiers, wood carvers and early settlers. Watch how sauerkraut is made and expereince a Civil War cannon firing and tour Native American living quarters. Cold War-era "Checkpoint Charlie" is portrayed at the entrance. New this year are the Scottish Border Reivers.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Enter through Gate 6. Free admission and parking (courtesy of the Union Grove Lions Club and Union Grove Kiwanis). Donations welcome.

This amazing story by author Roald Dahl comes to life in this delightful dramatization. "James and the Giant Peach" reveals the wickedness of some, the goodness of others and the indecisioned encountered by many when they are faced with crises.
Racine Children's Theatre "Packy Plays" are held at the Racine Theatre Guild, 2519 Northwestern Ave. Performances are at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Friday and at 12, 2 and 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. All seats $6.

Root River Steelhead Facility
Everyone is welcome to the 8th annual free open house at the Root River Steelhead Facility - Racine's Lincoln Park. Tours of the facility, fly tying and casting workshops. Learn about the important role this faciliity plays in the region's fishery and environment.
