Hazardous materials were found at the home of a man who was later found with a gun at North Beach.

Mount Pleasant Police say they called the Kenosha Bomb Squad after hazardous materials were found Tuesday in the home of a man in the 4700 block of Weatherwood Lane.
According to a written release, MPPD was called for a welfare check at 9:28 a.m. by the wife of a man who she said she was worried about her husband's mental state. The woman advised police her husband lost his job Tuesday and that she was not sure if he had any weapons.
Officers attempted to reach the man by phone, but were unsuccessful. While MPPD arrived at the home, Racine Police responded to reports of a man at North Beach carrying a gun. The man was taken into custody without incident and transported to Wheaton Franciscan St. Mary's for psychiatric evaluation.
