Winter Parking Regulations: Racine, Caledonia, Mount Pleasant

Winter Parking regulations have now taken effect in many parts of Racine County.

RACINE COUNTY, WI — December is here, and although there might not be snow just yet, Winter Parking regulations have now taken effect in many parts of Racine County. Here's our rundown:

Racine

Seven Days a Week, Alternate Side Parking Regulations are in effect from Dec. 1 to April 1, excepting Thanksgiving Day, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

Vehicles must park on the even-numbered address side of the street between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. of an even-numbered calendar day; and on the odd-numbered side of the street between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. of an odd-numbered day.

Vehicles violating these restrictions are subject to ticketing and a $20 fine.

During declared Snow Emergencies:

  • No parking is allowed on arterial and collector streets while the Snow Emergency is in effect, violators will be towed
  • No Parking on local streets, odd/even side parking restrictions (based on the following day’s date) start when a Snow Emergency is declared, and remain in effect until 6 a.m.

Caledonia

Winter Parking is in effect in Caledonia between Dec. 1 and April 1. Parking of any vehicle between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. the following day shall only be permitted on the even side of the street on even-numbered calendar days, and on the odd side of the street on odd-numbered calendar days.

For the purpose of public safety, property owners who live where turnaround tees exist are prohibited from parking any type of recreational or motorized vehicles within this area from Dec 1. through April 1.

Mount Pleasant

Beginning in December, when a snow emergency is declared (4 inches of snow or 1/8 inch of ice on roadways), all residents must follow alternate-street parking regulations. A snow emergency will be broadcast on WRJN radio-AM1400, Racine Time Warner Cable, and local TV stations.

During a snow emergency, from 6 p.m. until 6 a.m.: Odd-numbered days, park on odd-numbered side of the street. Even-numbered days, park on even-numbered side of the street. Parking is prohibited on a cul-de-sac during a snow emergency. Fines and fees apply for non-compliance with snow removal and emergency
