"These substances go by several different street names. Thin Mints, Peanut Butter Patties, Thanks-A-Lot," and more.

Police warned the public that this distribution operation was "run primarily by young girls who get you in with a good-cause story."

KENOSHA, WI — Kenosha police, ever on the lookout for foreign substances pouring into the community, have issued their newest warning: a "highly addictive" substance will soon be arriving in the area.

On the morning of Jan. 15, Kenosha Police posted their bulletin on Facebook: "These substances go by several different street names. Thin Mints, Peanut Butter Patties, Thanks-A-Lot, Peanut Butter Sandwich, Shortbread and S’mores are a few of them."

Police warned the public that this distribution operation was "run primarily by young girls who get you in with a good-cause story, and soon you’re hooked."

Kenosha Police say they're available to help if members of the public should come into any number of the aforementioned items. "If you come into contact with any of these cookies, you can drop them off at the Police Department. Officers will be happy to assist with proper disposal."

Officers are, of course, talking about Girl Scout cookies — which can only be purchased from a registered Girl Scout. To find Girl Scouts selling cookies near you, visit www.girlscoutcookies.org or use the official Girl Scout Cookie Finder app, free on iOS and Android devices.
