Wisconsin Weather: Up to 12 Inches Of Snow Forecast Sunday

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Southeastern Wisconsin into Sunday afternoon. Parts of the area could see a foot of snow.

MILWAUKEE, WI -- The 2018 Thanksgiving weekend will end with several inches of snow. According to the National Weather Service, a Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Southeastern Wisconsin into Sunday afternoon, and has the potential to drop up to a foot of snow, with most areas seeing somewhere between three to six inches.

According to the NWS, snow is expected across southern Wisconsin Sunday into Sunday
night. Areas in the Winter Weather Advisory will likely see 3-6 inches, while up to 8 to 10 inches is possible in far southeast Wisconsin.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Jefferson, Waukesha, Milwaukee, and Green counties, while a Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the rest of far southern Wisconsin.

Dangerous travel conditions are expected Sunday afternoon and evening across southeast Wisconsin due to the combination of heavy snow and strong winds, the NWS is reporting. Some minor changes in the track could mean some big differences in snow totals for the region. Wind gusts of 25 to 35 mph are likely...possibly as high as 40 mph near Lake Michigan. The highest gusts and possible blowing snow will be Sunday evening and early night.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on snow covered and slippery roads. The falling snow and patchy blowing snow could also reduce visibility.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
