Wisconsin Weather: 4.5 Inches Rain In 2 Days; New Flood Warning

MILWAUKEE, WI — Two days of rain have more than made up for a lack of April precipitation, according to the National Weather Service.

If you live in southeastern Wisconsin, weather observers say you'd ordinarily see about three-and-a-half inches of rain during the month of April.

According to recent rainfalls collected by weather observers, we've seen at least that amount of rain in the last 48 hours alone, with some areas getting four-and-a-half inches in just two days.

The City of Kenosha was pounded by rain, and saw 4.5 inches of rain since Tuesday. The further north you go, the less rain fell, the totals were still high.

Milwaukee saw 2.5 inches of rain, and Waukesha saw just over two inches of rain, the National Weather Service said.

According to the National Weather Service, the Root River in Racine and Southern Milwaukee counties will each or remain in minor flood stage today. The Lower Fox River in Kenosha county will remain above flood stage through the weekend.

Minor flooding on some rivers in southeastern Wisconsin will continue through the weekend, weather officials say.
