5K Run Part of Pioneer Drive Reopening Celebration

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for newly-reconstructed Pioneer Drive, where a block party also took place.

Nearly 250 people participated in a 5k run held Saturday as part of a day-long event that also celebrated the reopening of Pioneer Drive.

The inaugural Pioneer 5k run/walk started at 10 a.m. in Veterans Park and was followed by an 11 a.m. awards ceremony.

The event included a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly-reconstructed Pioneer Drive, as well as an afternoon block party on Pioneer Drive between Horn Bros. and Horn Field.
