Donations Help Secure 'Most Unique Geography in Muskego'
The Little Muskego Lake Association is contributing $50,000 toward the purchase of a 100-acre property west of the lake.

The Little Muskego Lake Association presented the city of Muskego a $10,000 check May 28 as a partial payment for the purchase and management of the Badertscher Preserve.
This property is about 100 acres in size and located in the watershed west of Little Muskego Lake. According to the LMLA, the property contains "what is unquestionably the most unique geography in the city from wetlands to glacial hills and areas of oak savanna."
Spring-fed waters from these hills and wetlands flow north into New Berlin and the Linnie Lac millpond and eventually into the north end of Little Muskego Lake.
The city of Muskego has installed a parking area off Field Drive, and Tom Zagar of the Muskego Conservation Commission has been clearing brush and cutting in trails so the public can enjoy the area, according to the LMLA.
The donation is part of a cooperative agreement with the city and state Department of Natural Resources. The LMLA is contributing a total of $50,000 for the purchase of the property.
