A local Girl Scout Brownie troop's efforts to get drivers to slow down near Muskego Elementary School can also help residents in their neighborhoods.
The group was the inspiration behind red signs now outside the school saying "Thanks for slowing down" on one side and "Slow down watch for kids" on the other. Girls made homemade signs before the Muskego Police Department eventually replaced them with professionally-made signs.
The signs are also available at the Muskego Police Department for any resident to pick up, Officer Ann Sheridan said.
