Muskego Alum Semifinalist For National Scholar-Athlete Award

A former Muskego High School standout is in the running for a national scholar-athlete award.
Nick Hirsch, a wide receiver at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, was one of 170 nominees for the National Football Foundation's National Scholar Athlete Awards.
Candidates for the award must be a senior or graduate student in their final year of eligibility, have a grade-point average of at least 3.2, make significant contributions to the football team and demonstrate strong leadership and citizenship, according to a news release.
The NFF Awards Committee will select up to 16 recipients, each of whom will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship. The results will be announced Oct. 31.
