Muskego Green Market Looking for Logo

The first Muskego Green Market is only eight weeks away, and organizers are hoping to put a brand on the event, which will take place in front of the Muskego Public Library on Thursdays from 3 to 7 p.m., beginning May 30.

Shannon Barbian has been busy putting the event together, and now says one important piece to the whole picture is giving it at logo.

Similar to the idea of keeping the produce and products sold "home grown" and local, she told Muskego Patch that they're seeking submissions for a logo from students in Muskego.

"We can't offer a "prize" so to speak, but they will have bragging rights and we'll print the logo on everything with their signature on it, so their name will be out there," Barbian explained.

The only catch is the deadline, which is coming quickly: Friday, April 19.

"They should keep in mind that the Green Market isn't just a farmer's market. (They should) incorporate the feel of a market that truly supports local, handmade, homegrown produce, food products, art, and crafters all in one," she explained. "We may even be able to include some live music on occasion. We aren't sure on that one yet. We don't know exactly what we're looking for but I think that we'll feel it when we see it. We just thought it would be a great opportunity for a local student to be able to say that they designed their town's logo."

Should there not be much response, or a successful entry, Barbian said they would consider looking at a local company, "but we think that out of all the hugely talented students we have, someone will get it just right."
