Richard Rens Named Muskego’s 6th Police Chief

Muskego's newest chief is excited and humbled to have the opportunity to lead the dedicated men and women of the Muskego Police Department.

MUSKEGO, WI -- Muskego police captain Richard Rens has been named the department's sixth police chieft this week, succeeding Chief Craig Moser.

According to Muskego Police, Rens has served as a patrol officer until 2001, when he was promoted to Sergeant, and was promoted to Staff Sergeant in 2003 and Lieutenant in 2007, while supervising all different patrol shifts and overseeing the implementation of several innovations and upgrades to the department’s operating systems.

He also served as the SWAT Team Commander. In 2013, Chief Rens was promoted to Captain, first overseeing Operations and then Services. Chief Rens is a 2003 graduate of the Southern Police Institute’s Command Officer’s Development Course.

According to police, Rens is excited and humbled to have the opportunity to lead the dedicated men and women of the Muskego Police Department as they continue to keep Muskego one of the safest communities in Wisconsin.
