Sheriff: Arrest Made in Gas Station Armed Robbery

Authorities say the suspect in Thursday's incident in Racine County is responsible for other robberies in the area.

RACINE COUNTY -- Police say they have arrested a suspect in connection with a gas station robbery in the Town of Norway and that the man responsible is also connected with multiple armed robberies throughout the area.

According to information released Friday, Sheriff’s investigators have been working with several regional law enforcement agencies that have experienced similar incidents in their respective jurisdictions. As of Friday afternoon, the individual responsible for the armed robbery in the Town of Norway has been identified and taken into custody in Milwaukee County.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing and the identity of the suspect is being withheld due to active investigations. Additional information will be made available once it is determined the investigation has been concluded.

Thursday's Incident:

On 09/26/2016 at 2:45 pm, the Racine County Sheriff’s Office responded to the BP Gas Station located at 7812 S. Loomis Rd in the Town of Norway for a report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival Racine County Sheriff’s Deputies and investigators learned a single suspect entered the store while armed with a rifle.

The suspect robbed the store of an undetermined amount of cash and tobacco products. Nobody was hurt during the robbery. The suspect fled the scene prior to deputies’ arrival.

The suspect was described as a male black 5’6” – 6’ tall. He had a thin to medium build. His age was believed to be in his mid-20’s to early 30’s. He was wearing a black jacket over a gray hoodie and dark colored pants.

The suspect was driving a faded dark blue Toyota Corolla with unknown license plates.
