Starbucks to Come to Muskego

The first of as many as four tenants in a development at Moorland and Janesville Road will be Starbucks, with others showing interest

A job trailer has been parked at the corner of Moorland and Janesville Road in Muskego for about a month, signaling that construction on a retail center is imminent. Rumors had surfaced, but recently were confirmed that Starbucks will be a part of the mall.

Developers had presented plans to the Muskego Plan Commission in September 2012 for the approximately 8,500 square foot building, and had indicated at that time that they were hoping for some restaurant space with a drive through facility.

Josh Minkin of Alpine Commercial, the leasing agent for the property, told the BizTimes that Starbucks would be a great addition, adding, “I think some great momentum is starting with this project and the recently opened Aurora Clinic.”

Minkin also indicated that a frozen yogurt business and a salon had shown interest in leasing.

Community Development Director Jeff Muenkel told Muskego Patch, "We’re happy to see a fine company like Starbucks here in Muskego. What makes this especially nice to see is that Starbucks is one of the many companies that we have been courting to look at Muskego for the past two years."

A second property is still pending in front of GE Health Care further north on Moorland, but to date no plans have been presented to the city. A Cousins subs has signed on to that development.

Muskego Patch has reached out to Boulder Venture, the project developer for the Moorland and Janesville retail center, for further comment. We will update the story as we receive more information.
