Travelers Beware: More Snowy, Slushy, Slippery Weather on its Way

The National Weather Service, the all-too-frequent issuer of Hazardous Weather Outlooks, has issued their latest for tonight.

WAUKESHA, WI — The National Weather Service, predictor of weather, and all-too-frequent issuer of Hazardous Weather Outlooks, has issued their latest one for tonight, as snowy, slushy slippery conditions bear down on Wisconsin - again.

According to the NWS

Accumulating snow of between 1 and 4 inches is expected across most of southern Wisconsin today. Some of the snow will melt, however slushy accumulations can be expected to cause deteriorating travel conditions and slippery roads.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect north of a line from Spring Green to
Madison to Milwaukee. Blustery northwest winds gusting to 30 mph this afternoon may cause patchy blowing snow.

Wednesday
Snow, possibly mixed with rain, becoming all snow after 3pm. Patchy blowing snow after 5pm. High near 36. Northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow accumulation of around an inch possible.

Tonight
Snow likely, mainly before 8pm. Patchy blowing snow before 9pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 20. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph decreasing to 5 to 10 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Thursday
A 40 percent chance of snow showers after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 33. North wind 5 to 10 mph.
