Burghardt Sporting Goods In New Berlin Now Open

On March 27, Burghardt Sporting Goods will host a silent auction to raise money for the City of New Berlin Recreation Center.

NEW BERLIN, WI—Burghardt Sporting Goods is now open in New Berlin at 153rd and National Ave., according to a news release.

Burghardt has joined with the City of New Berlin to purchase the 105,000 sq. building (formerly Walmart) to create an exciting public/private partnership in the community. Burghardt Sporting Goods occupies 80,000 sq. The city of New Berlin will occupy the remaining 25,000 sq. for their Recreation Department. Burghardt's 80,000 sq. includes:

  • A large athletic retail store.
  • An expanded showroom for team sales.
  • Company offices.
  • A much larger decorating facility.
  • A state-of-the-art Performance Center.

There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony 9 a.m. on Thursday, March 25 and a grand opening event from March 25 through March 28, with activities, food, and prizes.

On Saturday, March 27, Burghardt Sporting Goods will host a silent auction to raise money for the
City of New Berlin to implement their new Recreation Center's complete plan.

Burghardt Sporting Goods has been a family-run Sporting Goods company in the greater
Milwaukee area for five generations since 1881. Burghardt's has hit their work-capacity at the
Brookfield location, and moving to New Berlin will allow the business to continue growing.

Most of all, the new property in New Berlin will help take the company to a new level as a more
unified business. The retail, team, print shop, and fulfillment center departments will all be under
the same roof.
