COVID-19 Vaccines Available For New Berlin Teens At CVS

The retailer CVS announced that adolescents aged 12 to 15 can get Pfizer and BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines at 5,600 pharmacies on Wednesday.

NEW BERLIN, WI - Retailer CVS Health has announced that it will schedule COVID-19 vaccine appointments for adolescents aged 12 to 15 at more than 5,600 CVS Pharmacy locations nationwide. According to the retail company, pharmacy locations can administer the vaccine to children starting Thursday.

The pharmacy's website says that kids 12 and up are eligible for vaccination in Wisconsin.

Patients are encouraged to schedule appointments online at cvs.com or through the CVS Pharmacy app to ensure availability. Walk-ins are also accepted.

The announcement came after the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention voted to endorse the usage of Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine for kids starting at 12 and up on Wednesday. The Food and Drug Administration expanded its emergency use authorization for this age group on Monday.

In response to this decision, President Joe Biden tweeted, "It's one more giant step in our fight against the pandemic."

Parental or legal guardian consent is required and children must be accompanied by an adult, according to CVS.
