"One of our missions is to work within the community to let people know about our memorial to honor our vets. We thought there wasn't any recognition for Flag Day, so we decided it would be our mission to have a Fly the Flag Celebration either on or before Flag Day," Whitty told Patch.

The celebration will be held on Sunday instead of Monday to accommodate more guests.
