New Berlin Asks For Nominations For 24th Annual John Bauer Award

Bauer, who retired in May of 1998 after 30 years of service, worked as an Engineer and Building maintenance manager.

NEW BERLIN, WI— The 24th annual John Bauer Award nominations is now open. The Mayor’s Office is seeking nominations of city employees for this award. Nominations are encouraged from fellow employees, supervisors, aldermen, or citizens.

The nominations should be a written description of no more than 500 words, explaining the
outstanding customer service the nominee has provided to their fellow employees and the
residents of the City of New Berlin.

The Employee Recognition Committee, comprised of 10 City employees, will individually rank the nominations. The ranking will be tabulated and the results announced at a later date.

The award is named after New Berlin city employee John W. Bauer. Bauer, who retired in May of 1998 after 30 years of service, worked as an Engineer and Building maintenance manager. The creation of the John Bauer Award was announced at John’s retirement party, noting his commitment to get the job done, as well as his outstanding service to internal and external customers.

Nominations must be submitted to Melody Styba, Executive Assistant to the Mayor, by Friday,
April 30th, 2021. Nominations may be emailed to mstyba@newberlin.org, or mailed to 3805 S
Casper Dr, New Berlin, WI 53151.
