New Berlin Food Truck Finds New Location On National Avenue

NEW BERLIN, WI — A familiar food truck will serve from a new location in New Berlin this summer.

Firewise Barbecue Co. food truck is moving to the Burghardt Sporting Goods store at 15333 W. National Ave. The truck used to serve outside of National Sign and Design.

Firewise serves smoked meats, meaty sandwiches, nachos and staple barbecue sides. Alex Obradovich, the owner, says this is his first business venture. He has run the food truck since 2016.

Obradovich said he chose the location because of the previous years of selling.

"Once you get people to stop the first time, the food will get them to come back after that," he said.

The food truck opens outside of the sporting goods store at 11 a.m. and closes at 6 p.m. on Wednesdays. Obradovich says the truck cooks until it sells all of its food.

The truck sells food in West Allis on Tuesdays and in Franklin on Thursdays at the same hours. It's open for events booking on Fridays and Saturdays, but falls back to West Allis if it doesn't make plans.

"We just try to serve awesome barbecue. I try to keep it as simple as I can," Obradovich said.
