New Berlin Announces Memorial Day Ceremony At Highland Park
The Memorial Day ceremony will be held at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery on Monday.

NEW BERLIN, WI — The City of New Berlin has announced that this year's Memorial Day Ceremony will be held at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery on May 31.
The ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. at 14875 W. Greenfield Avenue in New Berlin.
Members of Hoeppner-Horn Bros Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5716 will perform a memorial service with a rifle salute and a speech from Commander David Chappell, according to a city statement.

Guest speakers will include Mayor Dave Ament, Sens. Julian Bradley and Dale Kooyenga, Reps. Mike Kuglitsch and Joe Sanfelippo, New Berlin Common Council President Alderman Ken Harenda and Veterans Memorial President Mary Jane Whitty.
Kayla Schultz will sing "The Star-Spangled Banner," and "America The Beautiful," and Miss Sugar Maple Jenna Watkins will say the Pledge of Allegiance. The New Berlin Community Band will play patriotic music as well. Then the U.S. Army Waukesha Recruiting Station and VFW Post 5716 will perform the American flag-folding ceremony.

According to the statement, sponsors have donated over 600 U.S. flags and balloons for the program. The event will end with a balloon release with memorial tags.
Seating will not be provided so patrons are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs.
"Please join your New Berlin neighbors in honoring those who gave their lives for our freedom," New Berlin Mayor Dave Ament said.
