New Berlin Suspending Nonessential Building Inspections
The decision was in response to recommendations from the CDC, the Wisconsin Department of Health and the Waukesha County DHS.
NEW BERLIN, WI—The City of New Berlin announced on Wednesday it is suspending building inspections due to the pandemic, according to a news release.
In response to recommendations from the Center for Disease Control, the Wisconsin Department of Health and the Waukesha County Department of Health and Human Services, the city is taking precautionary measures to protect the safety and health of residents and staff.
"The New Berlin Building Inspection Department will be suspending all nonessential building, electric, plumbing, and HVAC inspections effective immediately until further notice. At this time we will continue to perform inspections of new construction for both residential and commercial projects in addition to residential and commercial additions and alterations," the release said.

As a precautionary measure the Inspection Department will be asking screening questions; if anyone at that location is suffering from respiratory symptoms suggesting a possible coronavirus infection, the inspection will not occur.
