Over 50 Cars Broken Into, 7 In Custody
Incident started in New Berlin and ended in West Allis on Sunday.

NEW BERLIN, WI— Over 50 car break-ins occurred in West Allis over the weekend. Police took five into custody including four juveniles, one adult who was on probation for armed robbery. All residents of Milwaukee, according to police.
Around the same time as the five subjects were taken into custody, West Allis and New Berlin Police took an additional two subjects into custody following a vehicle pursuit (both adults from Milwaukee). New Berlin Police were investigating several car break-ins, police said.
A New Berlin resident alerted police to suspicious activity at 3 a.m. Sunday in the area of Sherwood Drive, near Sunnyslope and Greenfield. Officers arrived in the area and observed two suspicious vehicles leaving the area, east on Greenfield from Sunnyslope Road. A short pursuit ensued and ended at Nathan Hale High School after West Allis Police Department were able to use stop sticks to deflate the vehicle's tires. Both people in the vehicle fled on foot and were captured shortly after, a New Berlin Police Department Facebook post said.

The West Allis incidents will be presented to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office and the New Berlin incidents will be presented to the Waukesha County District Attorney's Office in the coming days for potential charges.
