Pandemic Causes Delay Of New Berlin Hotel Development
The project is for a Hampton Inn & Suites, a 4-story, 109 room premier hotel.

NEW BERLIN, WI— The City of New Berlin Plan Commission will discuss a 12-month extension of the Use, Site and Architecture approval for the construction of a 66,866 square foot hotel,5295 S. Moorland Rd. The original proposal was reviewed and approved by the Common Council in March 2020.
The applicant, John Ford of Moorland Hospitality Group LLC, requested the extension for reasons "outside of our control" such as the pandemic.
"We still believe this is a viable development, but due to reasons outside of our control (COVID-19) we have been forced to delay commencement of this project given the significant impact such has had on our overall economy, and specifically on the hospitality industry. We appreciate New Berlin’s consideration of this request and look forward to commencing this development at the appropriate time in the future as conditions warrant," according to city documents.
