Waukesha County Announces New Director Of Health & Human Services

Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow is announcing the appointment of Elizabeth Aldred as the new Director of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The County Board is expected to approve the appointment on January 26. Ms. Aldred will assume her new role the week of January 25, 2021.

“I am very pleased to welcome an individual with Ms. Aldred’s extensive experience on board, especially as we work to mitigate the pandemic,” said Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow. “Ms. Aldred has spent her career demonstrating her commitment to the health and quality of life of the public, and I am excited for her to bring her energy to our community.”

Elizabeth Aldred has had diverse HHS experience throughout her career. She has served in leadership roles in Walworth County for fourteen years as a Division Manager, Deputy Director, and most recently, the Director of Health and Human Services. She holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of New Hampshire and a Master's degree from the University of Chicago.

The Director of Health and Human Services is responsible for the development, administration, and direction of a comprehensive range of programs and services addressing mental health, public health, child welfare, elderly, disability, and long term care services, veterans’ services and other social services for Waukesha County.

Ms. Aldred will follow current Director of Health and Human Services Antwayne Robertson, who will begin his retirement in February after spending seven years in his position.
