The Greatest Gift this Season is Learning
There's a lot to be thankful for this year. My students are happy, healthy – and thriving.

There’s a lot to be thankful for this year. My students are happy, healthy – and thriving. I get to come to work every day and make an impact on young people – and that’s the greatest gift I could give to them this holiday season.
My name is Michelle Mueller and I’m the principal of Wisconsin Connections Academy (WCA), one of Wisconsin’s first K-12 virtual public schools. Our school gives students the flexibility to learn at home with an online curriculum that meets rigorous state education standards, and adheres to the demands of busy student schedules. Our students include a variety of backgrounds such as musicians, entrepreneurs, athletes and farmers.
With the support of state-certified teachers and a trained counselors and staff, students maximize their potential through a unique learning environment. Students learn online, but we also offer them opportunities to get lessons outside the classroom.

Field trips and hands-on learning opportunities are where WCA brings lessons and friendships to life. These are the places where students get an opportunity to socialize with other students, parents and teachers. Through visits to the capitol, museums and nature centers, students have hands-on learning opportunities with Wisconsin’s rich natural, cultural and historical resources. These are experiences that students will have long after they graduate.
I look forward to sharing this gift with my students this holiday season. If interested in learning more about WCA and the hands-on learning experiences we offer, visit: http://www.connectionsacademy.com/wisconsin-virtual-school/about/school-community/field-trips.
