Churches Replace Schools as Polling Locations

The city moved the polling locations after concerns from the Port Washington-Saukville School District about safety.

Two Port Washington churches will open their doors for future elections after school officials deciding voting inside schools was no longer safe.

St. Matthew Lutheran Church is now the polling location for residents in the 1st and 7th districts, according to an Ozaukee Press article, and Grand Avenue United Methodist Church will be the polling location for those in the 4th, 5th and 6th districts.

The Port Washington-Saukville School Board voted to disallow voting in its buildings as part of the group's continued efforts to amp up security in schools.
