Help Grafton Meijer Give Back to Local Food Pantry

Meijer to "Double Match" pantry donations Sept. 1-3 to support Family Sharing of Ozaukee County and make additional donations for flu shots

From September 1-3, the Grafton Meijer will double match customers’ Simply Give donations to support Family Sharing of Ozaukee County. For every $10 donation card purchase, Meijer will contribute $20, resulting in a total $30 donation to the pantry.

Midwest retailer Meijer recently kicked off the fall campaign of its signature hunger relief program, Simply Give, across its six-state footprint in an effort to help local food pantry partners restock their shelves. The Grafton Meijer store is excited for its Simply Give donations to support Family Sharing of Ozaukee County.

During each Simply Give campaign, customers are encouraged to purchase a $10 Simply Give donation card upon checkout. The donation will then be converted into a Meijer food-only gift card and given to the local food pantry selected by the store after the campaign concludes.

However, donation cards aren’t the only way to give back. From now through Nov. 26, Meijer will donate $5 to its Simply Give program partners for each flu shot administered.

Meijer operates 230 pharmacies in its supercenters throughout the Midwest, all of which administer the vaccine without an appointment during pharmacy hours and accept most major insurance plans. Depending on age, health status and state regulations, Meijer pharmacies offer a variety of vaccine options that include:

The Simply Give program runs three times a year to help fulfill the needs of the retailer’s food pantry partners during the times of most need: Spring, Fall and Holiday. The partnering food pantries are rotated to ensure broad outreach in the communities. Instead of determining what food to donate to the food pantry partners, the Simply Give program allows the pantries the flexibility to choose the grocery items best suited for the families they serve.
