Menasha Cyclist Falls Through Bridge Gap: VIDEO
A clumsy cyclist ignored warning gates and fell through the gap in a rising bascule bridge on the Fourth of July. It was caught on camera.

MENASHA, WI — A Menasha woman's tumble into the opening of a rising bascule bridge in Menasha on the Fourth of July went viral after a video of the incident hit the Internet.
The video depicts the warning gates lower, preventing traffic from getting through as the two sides of the bridge split, rising to let boats through after a fireworks show, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. But the warning gates didn't prevent a 37-year-old woman on her bike from getting through.
She's seen clumsily navigating through a gap in the warning gates, clipping one and almost crashing. The woman then continues, eventually falling through the gap in the bridge.

The bridge stops rising and boats are seen traveling through before several bystanders come to the woman's rescue. The bridge operator knew about the woman, so he stopped all movement until everybody was clear, the Journal Sentinel reported the Menasha Police Department as saying.
The woman was treated at a local hospital primarily for injuries to her face.
