Police Lend Car Seat to Parent Driving Child Without One

The woman was noticed leaving daycare with her child not in a car seat.

A 36-year-old Port Washington mother was warned about possible citations after being seen leaving daycare with her daughter not in a child seat.

Police were called to First Congregational Church, 131 N. Webster St., at 1:28 p.m. Sept. 25 after someone noticed the woman putting her daughter in a car without a seat, according to police reports. Police found the woman and made her aware of possible citations because of such a behavior. 

The woman told police the car seat was in her husband's car, according to reports. She was told to fix this immediately and was lent a seat from the police department to get her child home.
