Port Washington Man Arrested With Cocaine, Pot, Cash and Gun

A simple traffic stop for heavily-tinted windows turned into a drug and weapons bust once police investigated.

MILWAUKEE, WI — A Port Washington man has been arrested and charged in Milwaukee after police found pot, cocaine, a firearm and cash in his car after police made a traffic stop for windows that appeared to be tinted more than the state allows.

Milwaukee police reported that on Feb. 19 while on patrol an officer observed a silver Infiniti near the intersection of N. Teutonia and W. Concordia Ave. Police reported that the window tint of the Infiniti was very dark and in his opinion darker than allowed by law. The officer activated his emergency lights and the Infiniti slowly came to a stop at 3514 N. 19th Street in Milwaukee.

According to the criminal complaint, police could see the driver leaning down and to his right, but because of the window tint, the officer could not see what the driver was doing.

According to the complaint, the officer approached the driver who was later identified as the defendant, Angelo Buggs. Buggs lowered his window to talk to the officer, and was removed from the vehicle.

The officer reported that he could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the defendant. When asked, the defendant said that he had marijuana in his pocket. Police removed a clear plastic baggie from the defendant’s jacket pocket that contained suspected marijuana. There was also a large amount of cash found on the defendant, the complaint stated.
