SWAT Team Arrests Man In Port Washington Home: Report

Sheriff's officials said a man hid in a room where he had several firearms after deputies tried serving a restraining order against him.

PORT WASHINGTON, WI -- Authorities in Port Washington say there is no longer any danger to the public following the arrest of a 53-year-old man in an apparent domestic dispute.

According to the Ozaukee County Sheriff's office, deputies attempted to serve a temporary restraining order for a man who lives in the 2800 block of Northwoods Drive in the Town of Port Washington.

Officials said the man refused to listen to deputies during the call at just before 8 p.m. Monday. Authorities say he hid in a room where he stored several firearms. After several tries to get him out of his house, the Ozaukee County Metro Special Response team was called in to take the man into custody and end any potential threat to the public.

According to sheriff's officials, an entry team located the man inside the house and arrested him without further incident.
