Woman Dies In Motorcycle Accident Sunday Night

Authorities say the woman was a passenger on a 2000 Honda Goldwing motorcycle when it was struck by a car.

OZAUKEE COUNTY, WI — A 61-year-old Grafton woman is dead after authorities say the motorcycle she was a passenger in was involved in a crash Sunday night.

According to authorities from the Ozaukee County Sheriff's office, deputies responded to a crash between a motorcycle and a car on Highway 33 and Highway I at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Traffic investigators say the driver of a 2010 Ford Fusion, later identified as a 72-year-old Cedarburg man, was heading south on Highway I.

When he crossed into the intersection with Highway 33, he struck a 2000 Honda Goldwing motorcycle that was heading east on Highway I, authorities said.

Authorities say the driver of the motorcycle, a 57-year-old man from Grafton, and his passenger, the 61-year-old Grafton woman, were seriously injured. The driver of the motorcycle was flown from the crash site to Froedtert Hospital for urgent treatment, however the woman died at the scene.
