Where Do People Pay the Most Property Taxes? (or ... Where is the Most Expensive Housing?)

WISCONSIN -- Money Magazine on Monday released its 2016 Best Places to Live list, and only Appleton, Wis., made the top 50 list.

But while the entire metro Milwaukee area was left off the list (which is surprising, considering how favorable places like Muskego, Elm Grove and the North Shore have been rated in the past), we at Patch.com wanted to know where which communities enjoyed the highest median home price while also having the lowest average property taxes.

As with most things, the old adage "you get what you pay for" applies here. For example, it's only natural that a $362,000 home in Whitefish Bay is going to have a higher property tax bill than a $81,500 home in Racine.
