50th Annual Lions Daze Brings Fun and Funds to Local Community

The Sussex Lions Club successfully sponsored its annual Lions Daze festival July 14th through 16th, 2017, in Village Park in Sussex.

Sussex, WI - The Sussex Lions Club successfully sponsored its annual Lions Daze festival July 14th through 16th, 2017, in Village Park. For the last 50 years, this free event has been entertaining area families with food, live music, fireworks, a parade and more, and this year was no exception.

“The Sussex Lions Club is proud to support our local community through Lions Daze. This great event wouldn’t be possible without all of the hard work and long hours put in by volunteers and other community groups.” said President Bob Swanson. “It’s our biggest fundraising event of the year, and we had a great turnout for 2017.”

All proceeds from the event fund Sussex Lions Club projects that benefit the local community. The group recently donated funds to Willow Springs and Marcy Elementary schools for new playground equipment, and presented a check to Make a Wish foundation during this year’s Lions Daze festival in conjunction with the local Sussex Leo Club.
