Don't Yell 'Fire' at Village Hall, No Matter How Crowded
At least on Monday, because it's only training. See what else you need to know in Sussex this week.

If you see firemen and commotion at Sussex Village Hall on Monday night, there’s no reason to start a bucket brigade.
The fire department is training, according to the village website, and will put ladders up against the building and hoses up the steps. No reason to fret.

Here comes the boom: Blasting that was supposed to begin last Monday on the Mammoth Springs project will instead being this week. Multiple blasts are planned each day, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., for about two weeks.

State Fair starts Thursday: Cream puffs, racing pigs and food-on-a-stick make their annual appearance in West Allis as the Wisconsin State Fair gets under way on Thursday and runs through Aug. 11. And if you pay full price for admission, you're just as dumb as a chicken because there are discounts just about every day. You'll find everything you need to know on the fair's website.
Summer returns: And just in time for the fair, the area weather is going to seem a lot more summer-like starting Thursday, according to the forecast from Patch's media partners at WISN 12 News. On Monday and Tuesday, the temps will be in the mid-70s before getting to the high 70s or low 80s on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. There is a chance of showers every day except Monday and Thursday.
