Fleeing Domestic Violence Suspect Hits Sheriff's Squad Car; Is Forced to Stop by Deputies

The driver of the vehicle, a 27-year- old male from the City of Pewaukee, was taken into custody without further incident after the stop.

WAUKESHA COUNTY -- Police forced a fleeing domestic violence suspect to stop his vehicle using a "pursuit intervention technique" after a reported incident in Pewaukee Sunday night.

According to the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office, at approximately 9:28pm, deputies from the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department responded to a citizen complaint of a domestic disturbance in the City of Pewaukee.

While en route, deputies located the suspect fleeing the residence in a vehicle. When a traffic stop was attempted, the vehicle failed to stop and a vehicle pursuit was initiated.

During the low speed pursuit, the suspect vehicle side swiped a sheriff’s car causing minimal damage. The vehicle was pursued into the Village of Merton and came to a stop on HWY VV east of Center Oak Rd., after the execution of a pursuit intervention technique.

The driver of the vehicle, a 27-year- old male from the City of Pewaukee, was taken into custody without incident.

Wisconsin State Patrol responded to the scene and assisted with the investigation. The incident remains under investigation by the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department.
