Rev. Dr. Karl Fabrizius to speak on Church Persecution
Local area pastor presents "The Mark of the Holy Cross: The Church Bears Witness to the World through Persecution" on Sunday, March 6.

Area resident and pastor Rev. Dr. Karl F. Fabrizius presents “The Mark of the Holy Cross: The Church Bears Witness to the World through Persecution” on Sunday, March 6, 5:30 pm at Peace Lutheran Church and Academy, W240 N6145 Maple Avenue, Sussex. With talk about persecution of the church in the United States and throughout the world because of recent events, Fabrizius will look at how the Apostle Paul and the early church faced persecution and how the church fathers understood persecution as a testimony to the world. According to Fabrizius, persecution is the mark of the holy crow, a witness of the church on earth for the proclamation of the Gospel.
In conjunction with the lecture, Rev. Eric Skovgaard, Administrative Pastor of Elm Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church and School will join Rev. Peter Bender, Peace Lutheran, Sussex, for a panel discussion. The presentation is the fourth of Peace Lutheran Church and Academy’s To Everyone an Answer annual lecture series with soup supper and is one of a variety of events Peace offers to the public free-of-charge, suitable for all ages.
The Rev. Dr. Karl F. Fabrizius graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Ind. in 1984 with the Master of Divinity degree. In 1994, he received his Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Marquette University with an emphasis in church history, having a love for early and medieval church history. Fabrizius serves as a guest professor for the seminary of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ghana in association with The Confessional Lutheran Education Foundation (The CLEF). He has served at Our Father's Lutheran Church, Greenfield, for 32 years and has written extensively. Pastor Fabrizius is married to Darcy (nee Stark) of Fridley, Minn. They have three sons.
