Sussex Firefighter On Leave After Memorial Day Incident
Authorities say man was behind the wheel of fire engine while under the influence, struck parked car.

SUSSEX - Authorities say an on-duty firefighter is accused of driving a fire engine while drunk and also with an expired license.
Police took Thomas Gerstner of Sussex into custody on suspicion of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence after the fire engine he was driving reportedly struck a parked car on Monday during a Memorial Day observance.
Gerstner was cited for OWI - first offence which carries a forfeiture of $937.50, and Operating without a valid license before expiration which carries a forfeiture of $162.70.

According to a WISN 12 report, Gerstner reportedly failed several field sobriety tests and had his BAC recorded at 0.08 after the incident. Gerstner was reportedly put on administrative leave.
Both offenses are municipal citations and are not classified as criminal.
