Thirsty Duck Gourmet Pub And Mini Bowling Alley Opens New Location In Sussex May

Thirsty Duck, which has an existing location in Wauwatosa, gets its name from its feature attraction, duckpin bowling.

SUSSEX - After scouting more than 30 locations in the Milwaukee metro area, Thirsty Duck duckpin bowling alley and pub will open its second location next month at N64W23180 Main St.

Thirsty Duck already has a popular Wauwatosa location at 11320 W. Bluemound Road and the new Sussex location, at the site of the former Boneyard Pub and Grille, will have 18 bowling lanes open to the public and for private events in the 19,000-square foot restaurant. The pub will also offer live music and shuttle buses to Brewers games and concerts.

According to Northwest Now, owner Dan Zierath said the opening will bring 50 jobs to the Sussex area. Zierath has a knack for the business, currently operating Jackson's Blue Ribbon Pub and the original Thirsty Duck location, both in Wauwatosa.

The menu at the new Thirsty Duck will be the same as the Tosa location, boasting fresh-never-frozen and handcrafted appetizers, what Zierath calls "gourmet pub food."
