The 2021 Road Program project consists of repairs and replacements of mostly concrete pavements in the Village, along with repairs to the Village’s sanitary, storm and water systems along these roadways. The project also includes construction of sidewalk along Silver Spring Drive.
Work has been underway since March 29, 2021, and is scheduled to continue through the end of October, 2021; however, the contractor has been expediting the work and it could be completed much sooner than originally anticipated. Below is a brief summary of the work to be done along each road segment and the contractor’s current anticipated schedule for that segment. Please watch these eBlasts and the Village’s website for schedule adjustments and refinements as work progresses. On the website, you will also find traffic disruption information for each segment of the project and a Project Boundary Map.

Sussex Road
The contractor continues to make good progress. Traffic continues to be limited one-way southbound. This traffic pattern will be in place through early July while the contractor completes the utility and pavement repairs on the west half of the road and in the intersection with Village Drive. Pavement patches and utility repairs between Village Drive and Main Street are nearing completion. Curb will be installed between Silver Spring Drive and Village Drive this week with pavement to follow about a week later. Please Note: The intersection of Village Drive and Sussex Road will need to be closed for a few weeks sometime in June while we complete the work in the intersection. Village Drive will be open to two-way traffic before we close the intersection. Sussex Road will remain one-way southbound.
Village Drive
Utility repairs and spot concrete pavement replacements are nearly done. Traffic is still limited to one-way northbound on Village Drive. This traffic pattern will be in place through early June while the contractor completes the utility and pavement repairs on the west side of the road.
Industrial Park Ditch Grading and Pond Construction
This work will begin in late July and run through mid-August (3-4 weeks).
Miller Way
This portion of the project is done except for lawn restoration, which will take place soon. Traffic control will be removed shortly.
Hi-Tech Drive
Asphalt pavement repairs and replacements are tentatively scheduled to take place in late June.
Silver Spring Drive
Utility repairs and sidewalk construction will begin on June 1.
Good Hope Road (Waukesha Avenue intersection to the railroad tracks)
Utility repairs and spot concrete pavement replacement work on Good Hope Road is expected to begin early the week of May 24. The road will be open to two-way traffic. The contractor plans to complete the work in the outside (curb) lanes first, with two-way traffic traveling along the center line. Once that work is done, they will shift traffic to the outside (curb) lanes to complete the work in the center lanes. In mid-June we are planning a one-week closure of Good Hope Road to allow work to be done near the railroad tracks and west of Waukesha Avenue. These areas cannot be repaired safely without closing the road. This closure is tentatively scheduled for the week of June 21.
Waukesha Avenue (Keystone Drive to Good Hope Road intersection)
Waukesha Avenue will be completed and the road will be back open to two-way traffic early the week of May 24. The temporary signals will also be removed at that time.
