Village Of Sussex : 2021 Road Program Update: July 1

The 2021 Road Program project consists of repairs and replacements of mostly concrete pavements in the Village, along with repairs to the Village’s sanitary, storm and water systems along these roadways. The project also includes construction of sidewalk along Silver Spring Drive.

Work has been underway since March 29, 2021, and is scheduled to continue through the end of October 2021; however, the contractor has been expediting the work and it could be completed much sooner than originally anticipated. Below is a brief summary of the work to be done along each road segment and the contractor’s current anticipated schedule for that segment. Please watch these eBlasts and the Village’s website for schedule adjustments and refinements as work progresses. On the website, you will also find traffic disruption information for each segment of the project and a Project Boundary Map.

Sussex Road

The traffic pattern continues to be limited to one-way southbound and there is still no access to Village Drive from Sussex Road, but the end is in sight. The last pavement pour in the intersection of Village Drive and Sussex Road is scheduled for Friday, July 2. The intent is to open the road to two-way traffic one week after the pavement is poured. Completion of the lawn restoration will follow. This work on Sussex Road is nearly complete.

Village Drive

Two-way traffic has been restored; however, the intersection of Village Drive and Sussex Road will be closed until mid-July so that the final pavement replacements can be completed. Lawn restoration work has started and will be completed in the coming weeks.

Industrial Park Ditch Grading and Pond Construction

This work will begin in late July and run through mid-August (3-4 weeks).

Miller Way

This portion of the project is done.

Hi-Tech Drive

Asphalt pavement repairs and replacements are tentatively scheduled to take place the week of July 19. Those directly impacted will be notified by mail of the exact schedule.

Silver Spring Drive

Grading is underway and the first sidewalk pour is scheduled for Friday, July 2. The sidewalk is expected to be done by late July. For those of you who live on Silver Spring Drive, please place your garbage and recycling carts in the parking lane about 2 feet from the curb so that the trucks can reach them on garbage day.

Good Hope Road (Waukesha Avenue intersection to the railroad tracks)

The last of the planned pavement repairs are scheduled to be poured on Friday, July 2. Pavement marking and lawn restoration will follow.

Waukesha Avenue (Keystone Drive to Good Hope Road intersection)

Waukesha Avenue pavement repairs are complete. Lawn restoration will be done once Good Hope Road is complete.
